Cleveland HiBore XLi Irons

Product Name

The Cleveland HiBore XLi Irons are 3rd generation hybrids built around the same design as previous HiBore clubs, but with some improved features. These irons have a low profile chassis with a deep face design that produces a low center of gravity which increases their playability. The XLi irons are perfect for those golfers who struggle with getting the ball airborne or hitting from the ground. They add confidence to your swing, and will definitely help to improve your game.

This hybrid iron set flows seamlessly from long irons, to short irons. They all have a similar look, feel and setup that add consistency to your shots as well. The XLi irons offer high quality hybrids with a very traditional look. These were designed to replace your standard long irons that can be quite difficult to hit for mid to high handicappers, and deliver extra distance, accuracy and forgiveness to your shots.

The soles of these irons are very large, and have what Cleveland refers to as a “heel-toe drag relief zone”. This helps to reduce the drag of the iron as it passes through the rough, or when it makes contact with the ground. This feature will improve your performance when taking shots from a variety of turf conditions. The wide sole width will also add a substantial amount of forgiveness to these irons making them perfect to hit in difficult situations.

An exciting characteristic of these irons is that they really give you the impression that you are hitting a fairway wood. Cleveland achieved this by hollowing out the club head, so that the ball feels like it actually springs off of the face. This helps to generate greater ball speed and stability in your shots.

The launch angle of the ball when hit with the HiBore XLi Irons is quite impressive. The low center of gravity created by the deep chassis and deep face really help you to put power underneath the ball, making it easier to high the ball up high. Cleveland has perfected this design in the XLi irons by implementing their Distance Driven Geometry. This design positions the majority of the weight in the club head very low and deep.

The XLi HiBore irons also have a very high MOI rating, which stands for “moment of inertia”. A high MOI rating is important because the higher the rating, the less likely your club face is to twist when initial impact is made with the ball. When club’s face twists, even slightly, the shot may result in a slice if not hit exactly in the middle of the sweet spot. The additional offset of these irons helps to overcome this, and as a result increase their MOI rating. The square-like face also helps to frame the ball like an iron would, which reduces sliced shots.

You really cannot go wrong with this set of hybrid irons. They are very easy to hit in comparison to standard long irons, and are great for those who struggle hitting the ball high in the air, or for substantial distances. The hollow head design, low center of gravity and shorter shaft give you feeling that you are hitting a fairway wood, but with the added control of a hybrid iron. If you are looking for a hybrid iron that provides increased distance and accuracy as well as extra forgiveness, then these are the golf clubs for you.
